Al Handal Group Honors Wolf Gym Organizing Team for Iraq’s Largest National Day Marathon

Wolf Gym, part of Al Handal International Group, honored the organizing team of the National Day Marathon with recognition shields on 22 November 2025, acknowledging their efforts in delivering a milestone sporting event for Iraq. The awards were presented by Vian Taher, Group Head of Human Resources at Al Handal International Group, in appreciation of the team’s contribution to the event’s success.

Held on October 3rd under the patronage of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the marathon stood as Iraq’s largest running event, coinciding with the National Day celebrations. Athletes from seven governorates participated, competing for a total prize of 50 million IQD, which was allocated across all represented provinces.

The event received wide coverage from more than 25 international, regional, and local media outlets, reflecting its growing national significance. The race track was fully supported with medical, security, and logistical services, ensuring safe and smooth operations throughout. Participants also received a unified sports outfit, with each race distance supervised by professional Wolf Gym coaches.

Designed to celebrate Iraq’s National Day through a unifying sports experience, the marathon brought communities together under the Iraqi flag. By recognizing the contributors and organizers, Wolf Gym reaffirms its commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives, promoting community well-being, and strengthening the culture of sports in Iraq.
