The Gallery in Baghdad, part of Al Handal International Group, proudly presented Ahmed Al Bahrani’s first solo exhibition in Iraq, “The Alarm… Time That Never Wakes.”
Recognized as one of Iraq’s most prominent contemporary sculptors, Bahrani has exhibited internationally for over three decades, known for works that merge form, memory, and human emotion. His return to Baghdad marks a deeply personal moment in a career that continues to shape the narrative of Iraqi art.
Through a series of sculptures and silkscreen works, Bahrani explored ideas of time, longing, and absence—transforming them into tangible forms that invite reflection and silence. Each piece offered a quiet dialogue between memory and presence, where time itself became part of the artwork.
On the final day, October 2, The Gallery welcomed children from the Warith International Foundation for Cancer Treatment, whose visit captured the exhibition’s spirit of hope and humanity.
“The Alarm… Time That Never Wakes” stands as a meaningful chapter for both The Gallery and Al Handal International Group, reaffirming their commitment to supporting Iraqi artists and creating spaces where art connects people through shared emotion and experience.
