Chairman of Baghdad Investment Commission Visits Buruj Residential Project: A Milestone in Urban Transformation

Al Handal International Group (HIG) recently welcomed Engineer Duraid Najm Al-Rubaie, Chairman of the Baghdad Investment Commission, to the Buruj Residential Project—a landmark development by Modon Real Estate Development, a subsidiary of HIG—during an official visit on 19 May 2025.

Mr. Hardan Noori Al Handal, Vice-Chairman of HIG and CEO of Modon, accompanied Chairman Al-Rubaie on an in-depth tour of the site, joined by the engineering and technical teams leading the project.

Strategically located in the heart of #Baghdad, the Buruj Residential Project aims to redefine contemporary urban living. The master plan features high-rise residential towers integrated with a wide range of premium amenities, including recreational and commercial spaces, ample parking, an international hotel, civil defense shelters, a gas station, a dedicated power plant, fountains, and even a private airstrip. With the incorporation of state-of-the-art infrastructure technologies, Buruj sets a new benchmark for residential development in the region.

Significant progress has been made on several key components of the project, including Madinat International Schools, upscale retail outlets, and the vibrant Boulevard leisure district. These features are thoughtfully designed to enhance the lifestyle of future residents while contributing a sophisticated architectural presence to Baghdad’s evolving skyline.

During the tour, Chairman Al-Rubaie reviewed construction plans, discussed project timelines with the leadership team, and addressed the remaining challenges. He noted that major obstacles had already been overcome and praised the team for the project's rapid progress. The Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s ongoing support for Baghdad’s reconstruction and investment climate, pledging to provide continued guidance and help remove any remaining barriers.
