Last week, Mr. Wadee Al Handal, Chairman of Al Handal International Group (HIG) and President of the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL), alongside the Governor of Baghdad, Mr. Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi, participated in the inauguration of the Nazik Al-Malaika Museum and Library on the iconic Al-Mutanabbi Street.
This project is part of a broader initiative to rehabilitate the old city of Baghdad, led by the Iraqi Private Banks League in collaboration with the Municipality of Baghdad and the Baghdad Governorate, with funding provided by the Tamkeen Fund. The museum and library honor the life and works of the legendary poet Nazik Al-Malaika, whose contributions to Arabic literature have left an indelible mark.
In addition to the museum, the IPBL has also funded the creation of a statue of Nazik Al-Malaika, which will be installed in one of Baghdad’s squares in the coming days, following an announcement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani.
