Wadee Al Handal Supports Iraq's Plan to Plant 5 Million Trees to Combat Climate Change

Wadee Al-Handal, Chairman of Al Handal International Group, President of the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL), and member of the Board of Directors of Tamkeen Community Initiatives Fund, announced on Sunday, his support for Iraq Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani's initiative to plant 5 million trees. 

Al-Handal confirmed that the protected houses established by Tamkeen Community Initiatives Fund will support this initiative by planting 500,000 trees throughout Iraq.

In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Handal stated, "We appreciate the great efforts being made by Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani to combat desertification and ClimateChange through the launch of an initiative to plant 5 million trees throughout Iraq, starting from Basra."

He pointed out that "the Green House, which was established by Tamkeen Community Initiatives Fund under the supervision of the Central Bank and the Private Banks Association, will plant 500,000 trees throughout Iraq in support of the Prime Minister's initiative to combat desertification."

Al-Handal affirmed that "the private sector is contributing to supporting the state's efforts to confront the risks of climate change, as private banks are implementing the Central Bank's initiative to support CleanEnergy in homes."
