As part of the Iraqi banking delegation's recent visit to the United Kingdom, the Iraqi Private Banks League (IPBL), represented within a delegation of Iraqi banking officials that included Mr. Wadee Al Handal, President of IPBL and Chairman of Al Handal International Group, met with Mr. Sadiq Al-Hassan, Chairman of the Iraqi-British Parliamentary Group, at the British Parliament to discuss opportunities for strengthening banking and trade relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom.

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between financial institutions in both countries and supporting greater engagement between the Iraqi and British banking sectors. Discussions also explored opportunities to facilitate financial and commercial activities and expand channels of cooperation that contribute to strengthening economic relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom.

Particular attention was given to the importance of enabling Iraqi banks to open accounts with British banks, as this step plays a key role in facilitating financial and commercial transactions and supporting the integration of Iraq's banking sector into the international financial system. The discussions highlighted how such measures align with ongoing banking reform and development efforts in Iraq.

The meeting reflected a shared commitment to enhancing banking and economic cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom.
