Wadee Al-Handal Attends 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee Celebration of the General Cultural Affairs House
On 16 February, Mr. Wadee Al-Handal, Chairman of Al Handal International Group and President of the Iraqi Private Banks League, attended the celebration marking the 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of the General Cultural Affairs House. The event was held in the presence of Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Arif Al-Saadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister, along with other esteemed officials and cultural figures.
The celebration coincided with the completion of the House’s reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign, funded through a donation from the Central Bank of Iraq and implemented by the Iraqi Private Banks League under the supervision of Mr. Arif Al-Saadi.
In his remarks, Mr. Wadee emphasized the importance of this historic institution, describing it as a vital part of Iraq’s intellectual memory and a cornerstone of its rich cultural heritage. He expressed pride in the League’s contribution to this national project and highlighted the broader impact of initiatives aimed at revitalizing heritage landmarks and strengthening Iraq’s cultural identity.
The event underscored the importance of supporting national cultural institutions in preserving Iraq’s civilizational legacy and promoting sustainable cultural development.
