As part of its ongoing commitment to governance excellence and institutional development, Al Handal Group’s Board of Directors held its periodical strategic retreat in Erbil under the theme: "Leadership Practices for Effective Board Performance"

The retreat featured interactive sessions and in-depth discussions aimed at strengthening board dynamics, enhancing decision-making effectiveness, and establishing a clear roadmap for growth through three key phases: assessment, implementation, and development

Committees also presented their reports and strategic outlooks, focusing on balanced partnerships, organizational efficiency, and long-term sustainability. A new Governance Committee was formally announced, chaired by an independent board member, alongside the formation of a transitional board to manage "Modon Company"—striking a balance between institutional governance and family identity The retreat concluded with a shared commitment to advancing ongoing projects and strategic initiatives, most notably the “City of the Future.” The next board retreat is scheduled to take place in Istanbul in June 2025, reinforcing the group’s steady path toward transformative progress
